The know-how and the market advantage in the liberalizing energy market were together with the flexible, modular system solutions the reason for Global Equity Partners to invest in 1999. IRM provides software solutions for the integrated, resource-optimal use of energy. Over 40 major customers in the areas of energy supply, transport and industry in sixteen European countries use the software solutions of IRM. IRM was one of Global Equity Partners’ first investments. During the investment IRM was accompanied in its expansion to Germany, Switzerland, the UK, Scandinavia and Benelux.

During this time the number of employees at IRM multiplied from 11 to over 70. In this period sales also increased sevenfold. In recent years IRM has unwaveringly pursued its path of growth in the liberalizing energy market and has also established itself particularly in the gas market. With the sale of the shares to OpenLink Financials a strategically interesting business partner was found for IRM.
