ETM, which was in financial difficulties, had at the time of the entry of Global Equity Partners finished products, a large customer base, the SCADA software (software for visualizing and controlling technical processes) and a market share of 20% in Austria and 2% in Europe. In addition pre-investments which had already been made and the opportunity to acquire a majority share at a favorable valuation made ETM an attractive investment for Global Equity Partners.

Within three years ETM developed into one of the leading software houses in the area of process automation. The basis for this was the development and distribution of the innovative process visualization software PVSS, with which complex procedures can be clearly represented and controlled.

The outstanding know-how of ETM and the good positioning of the company aroused the attention of a strategic investor. In 2007 Global Equity Partners sold its shares in ETM to Siemens Automation and Drives.
