As Global Equity Partners decided in 2000 to invest in EFKON, the company was the only supplier to cover the value chain from the communication between the truck and the tollgate to clearing. The substantial know-how advantage over the competition in infrared technology and the combination of technology advantage, market strategy and product range were reasons for the investment. Today EFKON is the market leader for ITS payment applications relating to a multi-application central clearing center, vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication. The company has all of the current electronic toll technologies at its disposal and is a worldwide supplier of turnkey traffic telematic solutions.

Global Equity Partners was awarded gold at the Venture Capital & Private Equity Awards 2008 for this transaction. Since entry in 2000 the Austrian company has become the technology leader amongst toll system suppliers.
