A downturn in the office furniture market in Germany and Austria in parallel with development plans in other markets made it necessary for this traditional Austrian company to undergo a comprehensive reorganization program. The participation of financial investors Global Equity Partners and UIAG significantly strengthened the equity position of the Bene Group. Consequently, Bene was able to improve its competitiveness in the Austrian market and implement planned acquisitions in the growth markets of Eastern Europe.

The capital provider sold its interest after the company went public on the Vienna Stock Exchange in November 2006. Today, Bene is one of Europe‘s leading business groups, setting trends with its designs, products, and services. Bene has been the un disputedmarket leader in Austria since the beginning of the 1970s. In the European rankings of the office furniture segment, Bene currently holds sixth place.
